Dr Ben Purcell
Dr Ben completed his Master of Chiropractic through Macquarie University in 2008. As a teenager and into his early 20’s Dr Ben sustained multiple injuries mostly through playing rugby and horse riding, as a result had multiple episodes of debilitating neck and back pain.
At the age of 23 he started working for a Chiropractor in Sydney and finally found relief through Chiropractic Adjustments. This experience combined with helping people in a clinical setting inspired Dr Ben to venture down the five years of university study to become a Chiropractor.
Today Dr Ben draws upon many techniques to provide a safe, gentle and effective approach to many health concerns for people of all ages. Dr Ben’s passion is working with people to achieve optimal wellness and welcomes the opportunity to work with you, your family and friends in helping you all achieve a vital life.
Dr Talissa Shekelton
My commitment to Chiropractic stems from my belief that it is a gateway to helping others a more vital life. As a child I experienced consistent bouts of chronic pain and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Frustrated that no one was truly helping, I turned to a chiropractor who changed my perspective on wellbeing and self-care. I gained a deeper understanding of Chiropractic and the Chiropractic adjustment. I completed my degree in Psychology and then, motivated by my experiences as a child, chose to study chiropractic so that I could devote my life to helping people live a greater life expression.
After finding my passion I became immersed in the community of chiropractic and participated in any way I could throughout my years of study. I graduated from RMIT in Melbourne with distinction. I have intensively studied PDTR, MC2, AK, and TRT techniques and often spent my weekends being “that nerd,” studying anything chiropractic that I could get my hands on.
The heart of my work is empathy and communication to create a mindful and professional practice. I particularly enjoy caring for those who are nervous to be adjusted and/or are seeking gentle chiropractic care. When I’m not immersed in the chiropractic world, you can find myself challenging gravity on a yoga mat, lounging on the beach, dancing the night away, or attempting to convince my friends and family that I am not a witch and I am actually using science.
Hi Rachael here or Rach if we’re friends! I’ve been with Bathurst Chiropractic since May 2016 and have enjoyed seeing the business grow and help more of our community.
I’ve been married for almost 20 years to Dion (another local boy) we met working together at KFC many years ago and the rest they say is history. We have been lucky to have 2 beautiful boys and we relish watching them grow and our new roles as sporting parents, with them liking to play many sports including soccer, basketball, cricket, touch football and tennis. I have lived in Bathurst or Eglinton all my life and love the fact that my boys go to school where I did.
I have worked in many local businesses including KFC, Camera House, Rose Garden Chinese Restaurant, Blockbuster, Go Vita , fifty8 George and Bathurst Chiropractic. I bring to the team a love of customer service and helping people. Outside of work I love board games, making my own cider/beer and Margarita Sunday’s!
My name is Jo Murphy I am the newest (but oldest!!) member of the team. You might recognise me from Inside Outside or Mayfield Garden where I have previously worked in customer service roles and spoken with many people over the years.
I grew up on a farm 3 hours north of Bathurst and moved here from Armidale in 2002 with a young family. Living on farm at “Mayfield” Oberon I worked in the farm office, then in an admin/tourism role at Mayfield Garden while the kids were young until moving to Bathurst in 2016. Joining the team at Bathurst Chiropractic early in 2020 has been a brilliant move for me, a steep learning curve not knowing much about ‘Chiro’ when I joined it was a fortuitous opportunity. I am grateful to be working with such a vibrant team of professionals who are so passionate about health and wellbeing. I am now a firm believer in the benefits of chiropractic care to get my health to an optimal level. My partner and I have 4 young adult children between us and now live on a few acres out of town, where we are doing lots of home improvements in particular gardening, we also enjoy big family gatherings, travel and hiking when we have time!
Amateur knitter, mother of two rascals and the wife to Dr. Ben. Is the real BOSS at Bathurst Chiropractic. In 2020 Sarah hopes to retire but do not threat- she won’t be gone altogether. She will have a weekly hour of power!
